Lets Meet Deborah...
Deborah Mafujane has been commissioned by God to go and fulfil the work of an evangelist through open-air gospel meetings. She carries a deep burden for the lost and a passion to see people come into the fullness of the knowledge of their identity in Christ and to know Him as Lord and Saviour.
“For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6
Her Training..
Trained in Christian Counselling and Business Management, Deborah spent over ten years working in the corporate world. However, through divine revelation, she experienced a strong calling from the Lord to leave what was familiar and fully surrender to the ministry God had prepared for her life.
In 2020, during a time of prayer, Deborah received a vision in which she saw the blood of Jesus Christ flowing from the four corners of South Africa toward its centre. The Lord revealed that the blood represented salvation, healing, restoration, and hope — what He desired to release across the nation of South Africa.
The Commission..
Two years later, while attending the Christ for All Nations (CfaN) School of Evangelism in Cape Town, where she obtained a Certificate in Evangelism, Deborah clearly understood that this vision was connected to God’s commission for her to travel throughout the nation preaching the gospel. The calling to go burned strongly within her heart, confirming the mandate the Lord had given her.
Today, Deborah is fully committed to evangelistic ministry and has also been called to equip believers for evangelism. She trains churches across the country, empowering saints with practical evangelism skills so they too can reach the lost.
The Journey..
In April and May 2023, Deborah completed internship training with CfaN Decapolis Zambia. During this time, she preached at youth crusades alongside evangelistic teams and gospel trucks, ministered to the sick, and witnessed powerful works of God. These outreaches culminated in large mass crusades held during the final two weeks of the programme.
While serving in Zambia, Deborah received an invitation to join an evangelistic team in Techiman, Ghana, where she participated in crusades in August 2023. She ministered at youth gatherings, preached in the markets of Techiman — one of the largest markets in Africa — and helped equip local churches by training evangelists.
In September 2023, Deborah joined a team of evangelists in Mageva, Limpopo, where she underwent an intensive 10-day crusade preparation and planning training programme through In His Name Ministries. She successfully completed the programme and received certification at the conclusion of the crusade.
In 2024, Deborah applied her training by organising and hosting gospel crusades in Alexandra Township in Johannesburg and later in Seweding Village near Mafikeng. That same year, she joined a missionary evangelistic team in Thailand, Asia, where thousands of youths and adults gave their lives to Jesus Christ.
The Commitment..
As a minister of the gospel, Deborah remains accountable to Pastor Linda Patterson from Clusters (formerly known as Fisherman’s Village).
The Lord has entrusted Deborah with His Light Shines Ministries, an evangelistic organisation — not a church — dedicated to proclaiming the gospel and equipping believers for outreach. The ministry is founded upon two key scriptures:
“For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6
“In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:4–5
Through evangelism, training, and outreach, Deborah continues to carry the message of salvation, hope, and restoration — believing that the light of Christ will shine throughout nations and transform lives.
