DURBAN INVASION: YOUTH CRUSADE IN PHOENIX

di1

The past week of schools in Phoenix was tough! We had a handful of teams on the ground and, therefore, had to split up to cover the schools that held assemblies around the same time. At a combined school, one team attended to the high school section while I attended to the primary school. Both schools, however, shared the same admin office.

As I walked in to go to the primary school principal’s office, the high school principal came out, angry that we were promoting a religion. He said that I shouldn’t be allowed to minister at the assembly. Well, the teacher responsible for the primary school assembly was present, and he asked me in detail what we are all about and how long it would take! Turns out, he was happy to allow us to minister

The teachers were happy to hear the gospel, and some of the parents who came to drop off their kids couldn’t stop thanking us! Praise the Lord!

At one school visit, I was alone, and after the principal introduced me and I stood on the platform, I felt surrounded! The intimidating looks of listeners of Muslim and Hindu faith were piercing, but I shifted my focus to look at the curious faces before me, and some were beaming with excitement!

I preached Jesus! We prayed! We danced! And the Lord moved in that place. The principal, however, came afterwards and thanked me, then turned to the learners and said, “The message she shared is important, BUT you can pray to YOUR god” and he started to mention them and said, “you can pray to allah, to harikrishna, pray to your god!”

The last school on Friday was hard! We could speak about Jesus but weren’t allowed to put forward the decision to learners to receive Jesus as their Lord! These are the things taking place in schools, and we need your prayers to get gospel to reach our youth!

CHURCH EQUIPPING AND STREET PREACHING

We preached about Jesus from the bakkie while others approached people walking past and bystanders!

We concluded our work with an exciting assignment on Saturday by training three churches on how to evangelize! Three of us conducted this training. We left afterward to go to the busiest streets of Phoenix to demonstrate to the trainees how it is done and then get them to take the lead, and oh, they did!

TESTIMONIES

A young lady on her way to take her own life was met with fiery, well-equipped evangelists who prayed for her, loved on her, and led her to the Lord! This young lady could be seen weeping right in the streets because she had met with people who told her that she mattered and she is loved by God! The church is needed in the streets more now than ever before, and this is a testament to that truth.

We had Muslims whose hearts were open to receive Jesus! One Hindu man, upon seeing this, approached us and asked for prayers. We shared Jesus with him, and he received the Lord!

We encountered a different Phoenix in the streets than the one in schools, and people are in desperate need of the gospel. Unless we go as the Body of Christ, we will never meet many like this young lady who had given up on life!

I want to thank YOU family that your support helps to get me to GO! May the seeds you have sown bear much fruit in our lifetime and generations to come – 1 Samuel 30:24 Who will listen to what you say? The share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike.”
